From Tee Ball to Transformation:
Every baseball player starts somewhere.
A little kid steps into the batter’s box for tee ball holding a bat the wrong way and barely understanding the game. They swing and miss. They throw wild. They forget where to run.
But nobody looks at that child and says, “You’ll never make it.”
Why?
Because everybody understands development takes time.
The college player didn’t become skilled overnight. Those smooth swings, strong throws, disciplined habits, and confident at-bats were built through years of repetition, correction, hard work, failure, and growth. Nobody starts at the finished product.
That same truth applies to the Christian life.
Too many people stay away from Jesus because they think they need to clean themselves up first. They think they need to beat every sin, break every addiction, fix every habit, and become “good enough” before coming to Christ.
That’s not true.
You do not get cleaned up before coming to Jesus. You come to Jesus so He can begin changing you.
That process is called sanctification. Sanctification is the lifelong work God does in a believer to make them more like Christ over time. Salvation happens in a moment. Growth happens over years.
Philippians 1:6 says: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
God never asked you to arrive perfect-He calls you to surrender now.
A tee ball player belongs on the team before he learns how to hit a curveball. In the same way, when you place your faith in Jesus Christ, you belong to Him immediately—even though you still have growing to do.
Romans 5:8 says: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Not after you got your life together. Not after you became religious. Not after you cleaned yourself up.
That means you stop waiting and come to Christ today.
Sanctification does not happen instantly. But spiritual maturity is built over time just like baseball ability is built over time. You learn. You fail. You get corrected. You grow. God shapes us season by season.
2 Corinthians 3:18 says: “And we all… are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
Notice the words: being transformed.
That means it is ongoing.
A ballplayer who refuses coaching never develops. A Christian who refuses to surrender never grows. But the person who stays humble, teachable, repentant, and faithful will change over time because God is working in them.
Stop making excuses. Stop waiting for the “right time.” Stop believing you must become worthy before coming to Jesus.
You never will be. That is why you need a Savior.
Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sin and rose again. Salvation is not earned through effort, religion, or morality. It is received through repentance and faith in Christ.
Declare today that Jesus is your Savior.
Not tomorrow.
Not someday.
Today.
Live It
Stop waiting to “fix yourself” before coming to Christ.
Declare today that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior.
Understand that sanctification is a process that takes time.
Stay committed to daily spiritual growth through prayer, Scripture, repentance, and obedience.
Be teachable and humble enough to let God correct and shape your life over time.
Let’s Pray
Lord, I know I cannot save myself. I confess that I am a sinner in need of salvation through Jesus Christ. Today, I declare that Jesus is my Savior and Lord. Thank You Jesus for dying on the cross for my sin and rising again so that I may live. Help me stop running, stop delaying, and fully surrender my life to You. Shape me, correct me, and grow me. Build my faith day by day just like a ballplayer develops through years of training. Make me stronger, more faithful, and more like Christ with every season of life.
In Jesus’ Holy name we pray, Amen.
Blessings In Christ,
The Team at Bibles and Baseball
