The Real Deal
A Christmas Devotional for Ballplayers, Coaches, Fans & Baseball Parents
“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.” — Isaiah 7:14 “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.” — Psalm 118:22
Baseball people respect authenticity. Over a long season, the truth always shows up. You can’t fake effort, leadership or character for an entire season. That’s why players like Freddie Freeman stand out. He’s known not just for production, but for being genuine—steady in pressure, respectful of the game and the same person in the clubhouse as he is on the field. What you see is what you get.
Christmas tells us that Jesus is the ultimate “real deal.”
Jesus didn’t arrive with a new identity or a surprise mission. He showed up as the fulfillment of what had already been written. In the book of Isaiah, the prophet spoke of a coming Savior long before Bethlehem. The book of Psalms describes a King who would suffer, be rejected, and still reign. Jesus stepped into history and matched every description. No contradictions. No gimmicks. Just truth lived out.
For youth players, that means your faith isn’t built on hype—it’s built on history. For parents, it means you’re pointing your kids toward someone trustworthy and proven. And for fans of the game, it reminds us that consistency matters more than flash. Jesus lived what He taught. He is who he claims to be.
Just like great players earn respect by showing up day after day, Jesus proved His identity through obedience, sacrifice, love, and the fulfillment of prophecies. The life of Jesus is confirmation; God keeps His promises.
Let’s Pray
Jesus, we thank You for being faithful and true. Thank You for fulfilling every promise and showing us we can trust You completely. Help us build our lives—and our families—on who You our King and savior
In your Holy name we pray, Amen.
Live It
Be the same person everywhere you go. Compete with integrity. Lead with humility. Talk about Jesus with confidence, knowing He’s been proven true. Let your faith be as consistent as your commitment to the game.
Blessings In Christ,
The Team at Bibles and Baseball
