Embrace the Adjustment:
Spring Training Series – Part 2 (Skill Refinement & Transformation)
Spring Training isn’t just about stamina — it’s about change.
A hitter might rebuild his swing. A pitcher develops a new pitch. A veteran adjusts mechanics to extend his career.
These changes aren’t cosmetic. They’re intentional. Necessary. Sometimes uncomfortable.
Good players resist stagnation. They invite correction.
Spiritually, growth demands the same mindset.
Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Transformation requires adjustment.
Psalm 139:23–24 says, “Search me, God, and know my heart… See if there is any offensive way in me.”
That’s an invitation to evaluation.
Proverbs 27:17 adds, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
Sharpening creates friction. Sparks fly. It’s not always comfortable — but it produces strength.
Players — are you coachable? Or defensive? Parents — do you adjust your approach when your child needs something different? Coaches — are you developing players or just running drills?
Pride resists adjustment. Wisdom embraces it.
God will use conviction to adjust your attitude. He’ll use Scripture to adjust your thinking. He’ll use people to adjust your blind spots.
Small spiritual adjustments prevent major collapses later.
A slight change in a swing can turn a season around. A small correction in your heart can change your life.
Stay teachable. Stay moldable. Stay humble.
Championship players adjust. Mature believers transform.
Live It
Ask God directly: “What needs to change in me?” Invite honest feedback from someone you trust. Make one intentional spiritual adjustment this week.
Don’t defend weakness. Develop strength.
Let’s Pray
Father,
Search our hearts. Expose pride. Reveal blind spots. Make us coachable and humble. Transform our thinking and refine our character.
Help us embrace growth instead of resisting it.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Blessings In Christ,
