Lead Like the Captain

Baseball has a way of revealing character. When the game gets tight, when the heat rises, and when the pressure is on, the team looks to its captain. Not just for talent—but for tone. A true captain leads with conviction, courage, and consistency.

Biblical leadership works the same way. Scripture doesn’t call leaders to be the loudest or the flashiest—it calls them to be faithful. In 1 Corinthians 16:13-14, web are told to be “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”

That’s captain-level leadership: strength rooted in love, courage anchored in faith. The best captains don’t demand attention—they earn trust. They show up early, work hard, lift others up, and play for something bigger than themselves.

Jesus modeled this perfectly. He led with humility, served His team, and sacrificed everything for their good. That’s the kind of leadership worth following—and worth imitating—whether you’re a player, coach, parent, or fan.

Let’s Pray

Lord, make us leaders who reflect You. Give us the courage to stand firm, the strength to persevere, and the humility to serve others first. Help us lead our teams, families, and communities with integrity, love, and unwavering faith.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Live It

Encourage someone on your team or in your family today—speak life, not pressure.

     •  Choose effort over ego: serve in a small way no one else sees.

     •  Read 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 and ask God to shape your leadership.

Lead like the Captain who leads us all.

Blessings In Christ,

The Team at Bibles and Baseball
