Drown Out The Noise
Baseball is noisy— the roar of the crowd, the chatter from the dugout, the cheers and even the jeers from the stands. Some voices lift you up; others try to tear you down. Every player knows that when you step into the batter’s box or take your position on the field, the key is to lock in and drown out everything that doesn’t matter.
Negativity is loud. Whether it’s a critic in the stands, a teammate’s frustration, or even your own self-doubt, those voices can throw you off your game. But great players, and strong followers of Christ, learn how to silence the distractions and keep their focus on what truly matters.
Proverbs 4:25 reminds us to fix our gaze straight ahead. Spiritually, that means keeping our eyes on Jesus. When we let the world’s negativity, comparison, or fear creep in, we lose focus on the One who gives us purpose and peace. But when our attention is locked on Him, everything else fades into the background — like the crowd noise when you’re fully dialed in on the pitch.
Just like a batter who tunes out the stands to see the ball clearly, we must tune out the negativity to see God clearly.
“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.” Proverbs 4:25
Let’s Pray
Lord, help me to drown out the noise that distracts and discourages me. Keep my focus fixed on You, so that I can play, live, and lead with confidence and peace. Amen.
Live It
Today, whether on the field or off, when negativity starts to get loud — take a breath, whisper a prayer, and refocus. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Let His voice be the loudest one you hear.
Blessings In Christ,
